Muenster Grilled Cheese

David Venable

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Italian sandwich bread
  • 1 Tbsp apple butter
  • 2 thick slices muenster cheese
  • 1 tsp country Dijon style mustard
  • 1/2 honeycrisp apple, cut into thin slices
  • 1 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 blueberries

Preparation

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over low heat.

Spread 1 Tbsp apple butter over one slice of bread.

Top with 1 slice of muenster cheese.

Lay apple slices on top of cheese, setting 2 slices aside. Then, add the other slice of cheese.

Spread the mustard on the other slice of bread and top the sandwich.

Then, spread the butter on the outside of the both slices of bread.

Place in a large skillet or griddle over low heat. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Stick the reserved apple slices into the middle of the sandwich like monster teeth.

Place each blueberry on a toothpick and stick into the top of the sandwich for the monster eyes.
Serve.

Cook's Notes

For a sweeter kick, substitute cinnamon swirl bread for the Italian bread.
